Treftz, a researcher at the University of Nevada, Reno, conducted a study in which he found that the ‘healthy’Antioxidant compounds were significantly higher inHydroponics. In addition, the antioxidant content of the tomatoes was higher than that of conventionally grown tomato varieties.
The results of this study suggest that tomato plants can be used as a model system to study the effects of various antioxidants on human health and disease. The study was published in PLOS ONE.
