Who is Paul Busse?
Busse, founder of Applied Imagination, has always been a big fan of trains and gardens. After graduating from Ohio State University in 1972 with a degree in landscape architecture, he formed his own company specializing in the design and construction of indoor and outdoor spaces. Busse and his wife, Carol, have been designing and building indoor spaces for more than 30 years.
They have designed and built a number of large-scale indoor gardens, including one at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and they have also designed a large indoor garden for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Washington, D.C. In addition to their work with the USDA, they are also the owners of the largest indoor gardening facility in North America, which is located in their home state of Ohio.

On wednesdays, admission is free after 3:00pm. You can purchase advance tickets at the door. You must be 21 years of age or older to attend this event. If you are under 21, you must have a parent or guardian with you at all times. No one under the age of 21 will be admitted without an adult.

What should I wear to the Botanical Garden?
Low-heeled shoes are good for walking or hiking. It is expected that your shoes will get dirty. You should bring a hat or visor to protect your face from the sun. If you’re visiting during the winter months, wear a long-sleeved shirt, long pants, and a hat to keep the heat off of your skin.
Be sure to check the weather before you go to make sure it’s not too cold or too hot. Bring your own water and snacks. Water is available at the Visitor Center, but you may want to bring a bottle of water with you to refill your water bottle. You can also buy bottled water at most grocery stores and convenience stores throughout the park.
Can you bike Nybg?
Garden has a website that encourages you to ride your bike. It does that you can not ride your bike in the grounds; however, I thought if I folded up my bike I could ride it to the entrance. The entrance is located on the west side of the Garden.
You can also park at the parking lot across the street, but it will cost you an additional $1.50 per hour. This is the best way to get to and from the garden.
